Potternewton Park

After a two-year pandemic gap, it was time for the Leeds West Indian Carnival to return to Potternewton Park. And as one of Europe’s longest-running carnivals, Leeds City Council needed an end-to-end event delivery partner they could trust to deliver all project, site, and Health & Safety management for this iconic two-day event.
From the colourful parade through the streets of Chapeltown, to an intimate park festival complete with two stages, assorted traders and infrastructure, we worked closely with the client and carnival committee to source suppliers, manage the traffic for the afternoon parade, and coordinate the production schedule for the build.
As well as supplying our in-house LX and video wall for the stages, we sourced suppliers for toilets, CCTV installation, tower lighting, cleaning and waste management services, radios, security services, marquees, cabins, trackway, furniture and more. Ensuring all suppliers provided appropriate H&S docs, and maintaining a safe working site environment throughout the build and break period, and during the live event.
Thanks to our strong working relationships with the Leeds City Council parks and events team and carnival committee, the event was delivered successfully without serious incident – resulting in glowing feedback from key stakeholders and attendees.
